WHAT I LEARNED FROM THE MYSTERY MOVIE CALLED THE GLASS ONION AND HOW IT IS HELPING ME TO MAKE MY MYSTERY MOVIE 1. What conventions of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have? The conventions are finding a body, trying to determine if it is a crime, a lot of suspects, a lot of motive to kill the victim,  and a detective. The detective is dedicated to solve the mystery. 2. What conventions of the genre did the movie have that you liked? I liked the different rooms because it keeps you guessing to find out who the murderer was. I also liked the  mysterious music. This added color to the crime happening. 3. What conventions of the genre did the movie have that did not appeal to you and you are thinking of not filming for your final task? There were some elements of comedy that I would not add because I think this distracts the idea from the mystery. I would just have a mystery with no comedy.  But I liked all of the questions surrounding how it happened, wh

What conventions of the genre did the movie have that did not appeal to you and you are thinking of not filming for your final task? There were too many complicated motives. I had trouble following all of those. I also did not like the   darkness because it was really dark and I couldn’t see some of the objects.

RESEARCH FOR MY MYSTERY MOVIE: WHAT I LEARNED FROM WATCHING THE MOVIE KNIVES OUT 1. What conventions of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have?      The conventions are a crime, murder, suspects and suspense. The movie, 'Knives Out,' is a mystery. The movie opens with a rich man being discovered dead and it is obvious that he was murdered. Detective Blanc, played by Daniel Craig,  is trying to find out who killed him and solve the mystery. 2. What conventions of the genre did the movie have that you liked?      I liked the suspense in the beginning. I liked this because each of the people had a motive and along with Detective Blanc, you had to figure out who killed them. Also everyone had opportunity to commit the murder,  since everyone was staying at his house.  There was also a lot of family drama as they are all related to each other. 3. What conventions of the genre did the movie have that did not appeal to you and you are thinking of not

Genre Decision

GENRE FOR MY FILM: M Y S T E R Y   The genre of my opening sequence will be mystery.  I chose this genre because I like mystery because I feel if fit best for  my opening.  My film will open with the discovery of a dead body.  The mystery's are who is the person?  How did the person die?  Was the person murdered?  If they were murdered, how were they murdered?  All of these questions will swirl around in the mind as the movie opens. This is mystery because the teenager who discovers the body needs to figure out where it came from clues.  I came to this conclusion that the mystery genre was best,  because horror didn’t fit the genre and neither did any others. I believe mystery best fit this because they need to figure out where the dead body came from.

My Pitch

PITCH FOR MY FILM       Pitch A: A teenager found a dead body and doesn’t know where it came from.      Pitch B: A group of students from high school won a trip to Italy but it was nothing like they expected.  Discuss Pitch A: I am interested in this one because it is a mystery and it has horror.       I like the suspense in horror so this one is perfect. I also like how it is a teenager so I’m interested in seeing how the teen reacts and what happened and how the character found it.       I am also interested in knowing what the teen's thoughts were during the time the teen found the body. I am interested in what the teen will do with the body.  Will the teen call the police?  Will the teen investigate on their own?  I want to create all of this. Discuss Pitch B: I am really interested in this one because I like mysteries.       I like this idea because it would be adventurous. I also would be interested to see how they got to Italy. I also am interested because I would get to mak

ALL BY MYSELF       I am working by myself. I really like working with other people, but I chose this because I am super busy. Just to make sure you know, here is a picture of me and my best friend, Brian.  He is in college at Florida Atlantic University.      I have rehearsals for TAG, the rock band that I am in. I also have marching band rehearsals, jazz band rehearsals, FAU symphonic orchestra rehearsals, PRIDE band rehearsals, (lots of music),  and events that I have to attend. I have to take care of my dogs, Bucky and Marley. I have two giant schnauzers.       I also help at the Poverello food bank by taking groceries out to people’s cars. I also help them with stocking the shelves. I have to help my uncles with yard work and their property management business.     What I am saying is,  I feel like if I work alone I will work better. I don’t have to spend a lot of time trying to find convenient times to meet with my group mates. I also don’t have to depend on them to do their part

I am 17 and I go to Fort Lauderdale High!  I have two dogs.  They are both Giant Schnauzers.  Here is a picture of me with Buckminster Fuller, from a few months after I rescued him from a dog rescue as a puppy.  Both of my dogs are rescued and they are as happy to have me as I am to have them! I love to watch movies. My favorite movies to watch are usually action-packed. I also like to make movie trailers. It is very fun to edit them and watch them. I like to play marching baritone in the High School marching band. I also play the euphonium in our symphony orchestra.  I also am in a rock band called TAG! My dream profession is to be a teacher.  I would love to teach music because my music teachers have given me a great hobby.   I used to play baseball and soccer. I play tennis for my high school.
