Reflection

Image
REFLECTION I have been thinking about the things I learned in putting together my commercial.  Here are a few things that come to mind. 1. Before I started this project, I did not know how to use software to make films.  I learned to use iMovie and how it works. I also learned to use the sound effects in iMovie as well as how to create title boards.  2.  I learned how to import videos in CapCut. I learned to set up and use a tripod camera stand to record my photos and videos. I am really grateful I could find a cheap tripod online.   3.  I also learned to recognize my mistakes; this was a hard one!  I wanted to make a movie I could be proud of, so I  made sure I review stuff before I submit. 4. I had to learn to be patient with myself and watch a lot of videos about the software. I also learned not to give up and keep on trying even when I could not get everything to work. I learned that it is part of a whole and not just one thing. I learned to assemble and edit my video with picture

The production continues.  I had no idea that so much goes into making your media project until I started trying to do it myself.  I opened CapCut and looked at my video.      There was still a lot that had to be done.  I wanted to use some of the skills I was learning.  I tweaked my script a bit.  Although I wan't using any dialogue, I wanted to make sure the script  for my voice over was the best it could be. I also wanted to make sure I used diagenetic and non-diagenetic sound, ambient sound and voice overs as well as transitions.       I started by reading my script from the very beginning and everything worked out.      I clicked play and the transitions are a bit rocky, so I need to re-do those to make them the best they can be,  but the voice over and the pictures synced perfectly.      I worked on the transitions from photo to photo.      I started by counting what time the voice over was over and then I placed my photo according to that.      Then I placed my transition

PRODUCTION BLOG            I started by opening CapCut and looking at my video from start to finish.      I notice there were some mistakes in the video.      Some of the mistakes were the photos were on and off meaning that sometimes there was a blank space in between photos.      I figured out how to import the audio file into the video however I needed to delete some videos because the audio file was too big for my phone.      I also started to work on the animations for my photos.      I thought this was cool to see how many there are.      I liked fade in and fade out because it is very dramatic.      I also had to crop some of my photos so that the picture was lining up with the screen type.      I tried the AL script writer and found some interesting hook to open up my commercial.      I started to put my videos in and figure out great cutoff times for the next thing I will say.      This was a bit challenging because I was having trouble figuring out the right time.       I fig

PRODUCTION BLOG I looked at a video online on how to use Cap Cut and how to work around the app. I started to put all the photos and videos I was gonna use and put them on my desktop in a photo album so that they will be ready to go when I put the film together.  I know that I don't have to use them all, but I thought it would be easier to make the decision as to what to put in if they are all in one place. I realized that I had too many photos and the ones I wanted to use were not on my phone so I had to delete some photos to make storage.  I then sent the photos and videos I was thinking might work to my computer to upload them on Cap Cut. I will use the song Tripped Out Slim by Trombone Shorty because I love the trombone in this song and I also love jazz.  It is a song that explains me, which is the point of my project. I converted the song I wanted to use into an audio file. I will put the song in my commercial as a backing track. Now I want to start thinking about my script.

PRODUCTION      Today I discussed I wanted to film my commercial at the rehearsal space for our rock band, TAG.  I spoke with the guys about it and they said okay, as long as the crew does not disturb the instruments.  I agreed that we would make sure everything was not damaged.                                                                                                                I started thinking about how I could make that happen and how I would discuss making sure the instruments were stored safely with the owners of the rehearsal space and the members of the band.      I like the idea of filming there because band is a big part of my life.      I feel most comfortable and at home when I play drums in the band setting.       I will have to get help from some friends and others to film my video.  I am going to make a list of  equipment such as a tripod, lights, sound, and props.      I started pricing tripods that work with my i-phone so that I can videotape myself drumming

Research and Planning

Research and Planning      I am making a film about myself.  I want to talk about me, but I want to make it interesting to others to watch.  I have thought about what I can do to keep the attention of the viewer.  I think that my name, Bond, could be a way to get people interested.  My first name also happens to be the last name of a famous movie character, James Bond.  Maybe I can do something with that connection.      I will first start by showing a picture of where I was born, Chelni, Russia.   Hopefully I can find one online.  We have pictures from the area in our family albums, so I can review those as well.       I can look for films and stills from James Bond movies to see if I can put those in too.  I have to make sure that I don't have any problems with copyright for someone else's work.                                                                                                     Then I want to contrast the James Bond footage with my life.  I will take a picture

I also play jazz drums.  I like jazz music because it has math, rhythm and cool patterns and musical phrasing. I like ice cream because it's a nice treat to cool yourself off on a hot summer day. I have my driver's license, but I do not like to drive on the highway because of all those crazy drivers. I love to drive my family's car because I can go wherever I want and feel like an independent adult when I get beh
